Contract position | One year with potential for renewal

A one-year Social Media Liaison role with The Content Studio for Cape Union Mart and K-Way is dangling for a social media expert with a portfolio of demonstrable experience who is passionate about content, retail, outdoor adventure and the phenomenal gear that goes with it!

You have the spirit, agility and tenacity to consistently lead on fabulous content production, engagement strategies, and community interactions for Cape Union Mart and K-Way’s social media platforms.

As our Social Media Liaison, you'll be the heartbeat of our social media presence. Your mission? To create and implement innovative strategies and content that drive conversations, foster community loyalty, and enhance our brand’s social engagement. Your colleagues? Roles include:

• Content creation: Plan, create, and deploy engaging content that aligns with our brand values, including videos.
• Community engagement: Develop strategies to build and maintain active, loyal social media communities.
• Research and analysis: Conduct in-depth research on our communities and platforms to inform and refine engagement strategies.
• Collaborate: Work closely with our digital, brand, PR, merchandise, and customer care teams.
• Manage calendars: Oversee and integrate our social media content calendar, balancing sales and community-building content.
• Event support: Provide social media support at key marketing events, including some after-hours participation.

• Your proven expertise in social media engagement comes through in the ease with which you engage in this topic, as well as your evident enjoyment in joining in our enthusiastic and endless conversations about social media trends and best practices.
• You’re proud of your strong content creation abilities, you’re a whizz with videos and TikTok, and you get a thrill from pulling it all together to share the magic for feedback from cool teammates before making changes and going seamlessly live.
• You can dream up a concept, charm collaborators in the merch department to help with product and props, style up a flat lay and match up the perfect location, gear and video character, and shoot it all in a day’s work. This makes you feel truly alive!
• You’d describe yourself as pretty balanced as both a creator and an analyst. So while your content shines, you have equally excellent research and analytical skills that you love to put to work!
• You’ve done enough collaborative work that you know that you thrive in a collaborative environment, but can also buckle down and make things happen independently while keeping a close eye on team goals.
