Young designer Tiaan Nagel was recently named emerging talent's hottest new property when he won the Canderel Elle New Talent Show at Sanlam SA Fashion Week in Sandton. Nagel joined five other young designers in an event where inspired talent reigned supreme.
The annual Canderel Elle New Talent Show is one of the highlights of Sanlam SA Fashion Week (SSAFW), and this year was no different. The Canderel Elle New Talent Show again impressed with South Africa's young design talent over-achieving in all aspects, delivering on wear-ability, contemporary style and visionary execution.
Talented designers sharing the spotlight were Carina Louw whose sensual every-wear inspired while Siphakeme Ndlovu's modernist expression in gold, black and silver, rooted in a classic 80's mood engaged the audience's imagination. Luke Radloff delivered a Mediterranean feel of comfort and wear-ability and Joline Graham's feminine and sensual extravagance captivated. The talented Kat Kgare created an elaborate opera of colour and texture.
Last year's Canderel Elle New Talent winner, Tony Mestre, also launched his debut collection at the event – a collection of street smart garments that exude sexy sensibility with a post-modern turn.
