Old Mutual's ''I am. I can. I will.'' Campaign

I think it's fair to say that the new Old Mutual Campaign is extremely disappointing, not to mention lame and lucklustre. 17 Jan 2005

It's so good to be a man

Is nobody else bothered by the sexism in the Windhoek Lager ad? I have always preferred Windhoek, but as a woman find the exclusion of women offensive in their latest campaign, I no longer support the brand, which is sad, it is great beer. 17 Jan 2005

New Renault ad

In this day and age of violence against women and children making the headlines on almost a daily basis, I find the new Renault ad (for the new megane convertable) very distateful... 10 Jan 2005

Sleazers Campaign

I don't consider myself a prude, but I find the Teazers billboards, depicting scantily clad women in suggestive poses, very distasteful and demeaning to women. 10 Jan 2005

Hyundai goes from bad to worse

As far as I know Hyundai is the client of one of South Africa's most rewarded and highly regarded agency's (Jupiter Cape Town). Then why this crap, pointless ad for the release of a new car from Hyundai? (the car happens to be an Elantra in case you missed it.) 10 Jan 2005

REDD's -- the ''crisp will get u'' thing is losing taste

Is repetition really good advertising? I think that the advert has been on air for the whole of 2004, with no breaks (or were they too short). 10 Jan 2005

The Tsunami and the SA Eagle ad

Given the scale of the horror left in the wake of the Tsunami, you'd think that SA Eagle would place a different ad... but no. 9 Jan 2005

What's with the posters and stickers?

I have encountered lots of posters and stickers in Durban, stuck all over the place. Then I found a huge red three stuck on my door this morning. It looks like an advertising capmaign, or kids messing around. Anyone else see this? or know who's gonna pay for my door to be cleaned?! 16 Dec 2004

Hyundai tv ads: How to blow your budget.

The latest was for some 4x4 veeachle. A lovely blonde lady takes a bottle of beer and uses her eye socket to pop the top - with the payoff 'really tough' or something to that effect. 1 Dec 2004

Online Journalism vs. Print Journalism

Many people have speculated that soon print journalism will become redundant due to technological advancement. One thing I have noticed, however, is that a lot of online publications simply lift articles from newswires. 30 Nov 2004

Artist As Brand
