Reddy to judge One Show

Nathan Reddy, founder and CEO of Grid and founder of think (the Graphic Design Council of South Africa), has been selected to be on the judging panel of The One Show Design 2007 awards. These international awards, organised by The One Club, a non-profit organisation for the promotion of excellence in design and advertising, recognise best creative work in these fields globally.

Says Reddy, "I am delighted to be invited to be part of the competition jury. It is a fantastic opportunity for South Africa's creative calibre to be recognised in this international arena."

Reddy's past accolades include the selection last year to be part of the judging panel for D&AD 2006, as well as being hailed as South Africa's most awarded brand specialist with 55 Gold Loeries, 105 Silvers and eight Grand Prix in 10 years, and international awards including three One Show Gold, five Silvers, 6 Bronzes, D&AD Silver and merits.

He is still a board member on think and also sits on the board of the Creative Circle. He has been actively involved in the transformation of South Africa's creative industry, the fruits of which are beginning to show.

Reddy will join the competition jury as one of the top design directors from around the world who will come together in New York for one week to choose the winners of the coveted 2007 One Show Design Pencils. The other jury members are Alan Dye; Apple Computer, San Francisco; Bob Dinetz; Bob Dinetz Design, Piedmont; Missy Wilson; Move Lab, New York; Paulina Reyes; Kate Spade, New York; Sally Morrow; Sandstrom Design, Portland; and Pamela Zucker; Design by Principle, Quebec.

Winners will receive coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils at the gala award show in May in New York. Last year, a record-breaking 17 000 submissions from 63 countries were entered for the three competitions: One Show, One Show Design, and One Show Interactive.
