Mike Bosman joins Afrikings

Advertising agency group Afrikings announced yesterday, Monday, 20 November 2006, that Mike Bosman - former chief executive of TBWA\South Africa - has joined the organisation in the capacity of non-executive chairman with immediate effect. He is expected to act as the catalyst to drive a rapid repositioning, growth and creative profile of the Afrikings group.

"Afrikings is the best kept secret in the South African advertising industry. I have been watching the agency from the sidelines for several years now. The business is a giant which has been operating under the creative and PR radar screen. What I have so admired is how they deliver so effectively for their clients, without fuss and without ego," Bosman enthuses over his appointment.

The agency's clients include Vodacom, SAIL, Sun International Dreams, iBurst, and the South African Sports Hall of Fame.

A highly accomplished figure in the South African advertising industry, Bosman brings diverse experience which will be applied in all aspects of Afrikings' business. A lawyer and a CA by training, Bosman has most recently served as group chief executive of TBWA South Africa and was chosen as Advertising Man of Year by Fin Week earlier this year. He is an independent non-executive director of Primedia and was a director of Venfin until the company was sold recently to Vodafone.

Commenting on the announcement, Afrikings group chief creative officer Mandy Croucamp said, "We are really delighted that Mike has agreed to join us. He has enormous local and international experience which will be of great benefit to us".

In his role of non-executive chairman of Afrikings, Croucamp says Bosman's knowledge and ability to grow business is expected to be invaluable as the company seeks to expand on its client list and grow its R150 million of annual revenue. He
will be responsible for contributing his experience to helping forge the profiles of key accounts across the regions, while acting as a friend and mentor to the present executive management team.

The agency is active in several other African countries and in Dubai, and aims to grow aggressively across the continent.
