SABC FM stations get new managers
The SABC has announced the new station manager for Motsweding FM is Sibongile Mtyali, who took over yesterday 1 July 20120. PBS Radio appointed her as programme manager for Motsweding FM in 2007. For the past two years, she was acting station manager for Thobela FM and Motsweding FM respectively.
Christinah Mazibuko has been appointed as marketing manager for Ligwalagwala FM, having served as the acting marketing manager for the station. She brings a wealth of marketing, events and promotions experience, having worked as a marketing manager at a leading conferencing company, as well as a promotions coordinator in the entertainment industry.
From Monday 5 July 2010, MPowerFM has brought back the station's programme manager, Tony Murrell, back on air full-time as the new Afternoon Drive show host, with Sibs Matiyela as his co-host. The weekday shows will be packed with more hit music and will run for four hours instead of three, allowing listeners more time with their favourite presenters. Kevin Savage, MD of the station will also be hosting his very own show every Sunday from 9am-12pm entitled 'Time Tunnel', where he plays his favourite songs from his last 37 years in radio.
