LSM posters for easy reference

Ads24, the newspaper marketing division of Media24, have launched the 2006 Living Standards Measure (LSM) posters, endorsed by the South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF), providing media planners with an LSM view of SA at a glance.

Paul Haupt, CEO of SAARF, says: "SAARF LSM groupings are the most widely used segmentation tool in South Africa. This visual representation of the 10 LSM groups gives a face to these groups, and will hopefully assist people to better understand the complex make-up of our society."

Based on the SAARF AMPS data released in November 2005, the poster is a visual representation of each of South Africa's ten LSM groups, with language breakdowns depicted in bar graph format over the water colour style photographs designed by Pretoria based design agency, Blueberry Creative.

The percentages of English, Afrikaans, Nguni and Sotho demographics in each LSM are quickly recognisable in the bar graph format that overlies the South African scenes in each of the ten blocks.

Listed below each LSM segment is further information on the total population size of that particular LSM, the lowest and highest age groups, average household income, gender percentages, and the marital status of individuals in that LSM group.

The poster will be printed in a large poster size as well as a smaller version, roughly a quarter of the size. Electronic copies will also be available. To acquire a complimentary soft copy, phone Kirsten at Ads24 on +27-011-259-1700 or e-mail: .
