Senior Quantity Surveyor (Property industry) - Stellenbosch - Western Cape

A client, based in Stellenbosch, is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The suitable candidate will have experience within the Property industry.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8- 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the property or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, cost estimation, and budget management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English

Key responsibilities:

• Cost estimation and budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for property development projects, including new builds and renovations.
• Contract management: Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance and value for money.
• Project monitoring: Oversee project progress to ensure timely completion within budget, identifying and resolving any financial discrepancies.
• Risk management: Identify potential risks related to costs and contracts, and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Valuation and payments: Conduct valuations of completed work and manage payment processes to contractors and suppliers.
• Feasibility studies: Conduct feasibility studies and financial assessments for potential property developments.
• Cost control: Implement effective cost control measures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
• Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and updates to stakeholders, detailing project performance and financial status.
