International media professional award launched

The Media Professional of the Year is a newly launched award that recognises an individual in the industry who has led new developments, been at the forefront of industry debate or created great media campaigns in 2009. Entries, which opened this week, close on 14 January 2010 and this award will form part of the Festival of Media Awards 2010, culminating in the gala dinner on 20 April in Valencia, Spain.

Commenting on the launch of this new industry award, Charlie Crowe, CEO of C Squared Holdings said, “We are very excited to see who the industry will put forward to receive this award. We expect to see some of the globally recognised industry leaders but also hope to hear about the great work, professionalism and leadership being shown by less well known individuals in our industry around the world.”

How it works

Media and marketing executives from all around the world are being invited to nominate the individual whose work they have most admired for consideration. The 10 individuals who receive the most public nominations will then be put forward for consideration by the final awards jury, which will select the winner.

The Festival of Media Awards has 12 entering categories designed to recognise the most creative and effective campaigns and is open for entries from clients, media agencies, specialist digital or mobile agencies, media owners, content creators or production companies - recognising that media expertise no longer resides in a single location. Two entering categories are more specifically for media owners and those companies developing innovations in media products.
