Job hunting beats sex!

Over the last 12 months, "jobs" has surpassed "sex" as the most searched word on Ananzi. However, in April month, the most searched word was 'IEC' due to the elections.

"We are excited at this result because it shows that Ananzi is becoming more mainstream and that more people are accessing the Internet for information," said Mark Buwalda, managing director of Ananzi.

"There is no easier way to reach a large mass of people on a one to one basis than through the Internet. Political parties advertise on street poles and have websites, but they have not really taken advantage of advertising on search engines as a way of getting their message across and interacting with the people who vote for them," said Buwalda.

Ananzi is one of the most recognised South African Web brands, with over 12-million page impressions (page views) per month. With its 660 000 unique users, it is considered one of the largest sites in the country and a gateway for the South African Internet consumer and business market.
