Advertising News South Africa

Gauteng, do your bit for charity this weekend!

The annual fund-raising Standard Bank/ABF Village Cricket Day - to be held by members of the advertising industry on Sunday April 9, 2006 at St Peters School in Paulshof, Johannesburg - will commemorate South Africa's stunning victory over Australia at The Wanderers, with great cricketing memorabilia and prizes up for grabs.

All proceeds of the day will go to the Advertising Benevolent Fund.

A cricket bat, signed by the victorious 2006 South African Cricket team, will be up for auction at prize giving. One lucky participant will stand the chance to win R5000 in a "hit the wicket" competition, which also has a consolation prize of R2000.

With a lively DJ and music normally associated with limited overs cricket, children can meet 'Stan the Duck', cricket's lovable mascot, and thrill at the chance of being 'dunked' in the dunk tank every time a boundary is scored.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
