Andrew Human to judge Epica Awards

Messieur Andrew Human is jetting off to Paris, a city the Springboks will not forget in a hurry, to judge the Epica Awards, the largest advertising awards on the European and EMAE region's annual calendar.

What makes the Epic Awards different is the jury is made up of representatives from the advertising trade press. Only 34 were chosen from 27 countries to gather from 20 – 24 November 2007 to ponder the merits of over 5461 entries – that's if the 2006 entry numbers are anything to go by.

As the managing editor of Migrate, the official Loerie publication, Human says he is truly honoured to be invited, especially as he is the only representative on the jury from outside of Europe. He says it will give him an opportunity to compare the originality, standard and creativity of the work in Europe to that of our region.

A total of 703 advertising agencies, film production companies, media consultancies, design studios and photographers from 45 countries participated in the awards last year. This is the first time the Epica awards has been thrown open to the advertising industry on the African continent. Entries can still be submitted to this year's awards and more information is available on www.epica-awards.com.

The award ceremony, now in its 21st year, will take place in Stockholm Sweden on 11 January 2008.

Bon Voyage Andrew and bring back the good news that South African creativity is world class.
