Radio 2000 will be broadcasting live from Joubert Park on Nelson Mandela Day, 18 July 2017, between 9am and 12pm. The station will be spending its 67 minutes celebrating Madiba's legacy by feeding and donating blankets to 500 homeless people in the Johannesburg CBD.
The homeless people will, in turn, spend their 67 minutes by cleaning the park and the day's activities will end with a music performance organised by the station. Some of Radio 2000's key sponsors for the initiative include Aranda Blankets, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa, EMS Joburg, Gift of the Givers, Iskcon Lenasia, Joburg City Parks, Old Mutual, and Sidas Security.
