Fairlady, M-Net combine for reality TV comp

Fairlady and M-Net have joined forces to find South Africa's first style apprentice, who stands to win six-month's paid internship with the magazine after battling it out with five other contestants on the MNet Style Apprentice show. The winning candidate will also receive career-boosting accessories such as a new wardrobe, a laptop, a cellphone and all the right accessories.

Entries to the competition open on 9 November 2009 and close on 14 December 2009. From these entries, 20 will be short-listed for a one-on-one interview with the judging panel headed by Fairlady editor, Suzy Brokensha. She will hand-pick her top six interns, who will then battle it out on camera, reality TV-style and broadcast on M-Net Series channel from 26 March. The six finalists will be housed in a stylish Cape Town penthouse for the duration of the production.

Entrants need to be energetic, creative and talented individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who are driven and ambitious, with a strong desire to make it big in the world of fashion and beauty.

“We are a proudly Afro optimist magazine and we thought this was a really great way to combine print and TV to showcase our local talent and offer the winner a great career opportunity at the same time” says Brokensha.
