    Brendan Cooper new Sports Illustrated editor

    Brendan Cooper has been appointed editor of Sports Illustrated South Africa, the magazine announced today, Thursday, 16 July 2009.

    Cooper has more than 15 years in the publishing industry in various roles including that of editorial director for Upper Case Media where he was responsible for magazines such as FHM, heat and Zoo.

    Associate publisher of Sports Illustrated Anthony Evlambiou says: “Brendan's impressive record speaks for itself and with his passion for magazines and sport he is perfectly equipped to lead this title with distinction”.

    Commenting on his new role Cooper said, “My appointment means that I get to combine my two passions in life - sports and making magazines. I'm very excited about taking SI into a new era that both draws on the history of this iconic brand, and caters for the contemporary readers' sporting needs in a slick, savvy, informed and visually exciting package.
