Generally, I do it because I hope to be one of the finalist (like in the 2008 Bloggies) because those lists stay up there with a link to your blog indefinitely. So the international (and even local!) exposure is what it's all about to me.
"That said, winning is fantastic and I'm enjoying the increased traffic and hoping to snag a few new regular readers from it, even though I'm well aware that my blog won't appeal to everyone.
