Digital News South Africa

Key sponsors for Bookmarks awards

BBC.com, one of the world's largest broadcast news websites, is headline-sponsoring the Bookmarks awards for the second year, together with FNB.

The awards, now in their second year, are the only platform dedicated to excellence in online publishing and digital marketing. The Online Publishers Association initiated the awards as a means to strengthen the profile of online media, benchmark local talent against international standards; and educate and impassion the industry as a whole.

Sean O'Hara, Africa regional director for BBC.com comments, “South Africa is an important market for BBC.com and we are committed to growing our reach and working with new partners. With cross platform advertising opportunities available across ‘three screens' with BBC.com, our mobile site and TV channels, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of platforms for brands to reach our audiences. We are delighted to be associated with the Bookmarks for the second year running.''

Opportunities for sponsorships still available

“FNB is a company that believes in innovation and it was therefore natural that we align ourselves with an award such as the Bookmarks,” said Gisele Wertheim, head of media for FNB. Wertheim added, “Digital is a key channel for FNB and we like to take the lead in digital innovation in terms of mobile banking, social media and online initiatives. FNB supports the development of this medium as well as the standards of work.”

Category sponsors for the Bookmarks include Nielsen's, the global media and information company; The Space Station, the digital media sales house and part of the Naspers group; and Adtech, a global leader in digital marketing solutions.

Opportunities for sponsorships still exist and interested parties can contact Theresa Vitale on +27 (0)11 4543534 or email . For more information on the awards, go to www.thebookmarks.co.za.
