Third-year Communication Design students at The Open Window were given the challenge of creating a cover for Wired magazine. Their artworks were sent to the creative director of Wired magazine UK, Andrew Diprose, for his comment. 
Entering the last lap of the exciting “Where's Seymore” competition, the man just shows no sign of diminishing wanderlust... yet. Where has he gotten to this time? Does he know that time is running out? And that lots of people are eagerly wanting to let us know his last known sighting? 
Graphic designers, illustrators, web designers, animators and filmmakers with a previous qualification are invited to take their knowledge and experience a notch higher with The Open Window's BA Honours degree in Visual Communication. 
Designed by MetropolitanRepublic, the Loerie Annual is a further expression of the “Feed your ego” theme of the 2009 Awards. This is carried through in the design of the book and the cartoon “egos” that populated the Loeries campaign this year. 
Cape-based strategic design agency, Liquidlab, has recently expanded its national client base to include one of South Africa's most trusted household brands, Nola. The company approached Liquidlab to redesign both their corporate logo and their range of household mayonnaises and dips.

The winner of the October 2009 round of the Wrap2theMax vehicle wrap design competition is local designer Annemarie Burger. She wins this round based on her submission for News Cafe that accurately captured the feel of the News Cafe advertising campaigns in a mobile format. 
The eighth annual Solve New Talent Search award ceremony, held at Weylandts Homestores, Green Point, Cape Town towards the end of last week, saw John Edwards, a 24-year-old University of Cape Town School of Architecture student, win the top prize.
