Job Summary:
The overall purpose of the Junior Claims Consultant is to effectively capture and manage claims while proactively and constantly providing updates to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering excellent client services from first notification of loss to claims closure.
Recording claim information including details about loss, date etc and informing client of requirements and next steps.
Ensuring that claims are processed in an accurate and timely manner, mitigating claims cost in accordance with policy guidelines.
Providing client service to clients regarding claim status updates and progress reports.
Answer telephonic and e-mail queries from clients and stakeholders.
Risk management awareness and understanding.
Reviewing records and other documentation to determine the validity of claims.
Review rejections and draft rejection letters to be signed off by the Underwriter and send to client.
Build, maintain and manage relationships with stakeholders
Required skills and qualifications:
Minimum qualifications
Matric Certificate.
RE5.
Additional qualifications in insurance or administration will be advantageous.
Minimum Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in non-motor claims handling in a Call Centre environment in the Insurance industry.
Skills Required
Specialist knowledge and skills with regards to Insurance policies/ procedures.
Computer Literate (Excel, Word & Outlook).
Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills.
Excellent telephonic service ability.
Vernacular an advantage.
Understand importance of confidentiality with regards to clients’ financial information.
Working Conditions
Standard office environment with occasional need to attend meetings or training sessions.
May require occasional overtime during peak periods.
