Business Developer

Enterprises University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd is the commercial hub that manages and implements business activities of the University of Pretoria (UP). Wholly owned by the University, the company manages and executes the commercial research and training activities of the University.
The research and consulting solutions division has a vacant position for a business developer whose key outputs include business intelligence generation, conceptualisation of solutions and services, new business generation, business administration, and reporting.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Explore and generate business opportunities via tenders, EOIs, PFQs, and RFPs.
- Explore and generate business opportunities via engagement with the external market and clients.
- Provide project and office administration and support to the business manager/portfolio.
- Reporting.
Education and qualifications:
- Relevant three-year tertiary qualification of at least three years in duration/degree, preferably in the areas of business management or sales (NQF 7)
- Valid driver’s licence
- South African citizen
- Two to three years of experience in business development/sales/marketing/consulting
- Contract and research management experience
- Project management experience
- Tenders, quotations, proposals, and report conceptualisation and writing
- Principles of research
- Business sourcing and development
- Budget compilation
- Networking and negotiation
- Company systems
- Attention to detail and sound administrative discipline
