Oryx Desert Salt, an FMCG company based in Muizenberg, urgently seeks a skilled and detail-oriented operations and key accounts manager to support its growing international business. In this role, you will assist the general manager and CEO with procurement, logistics, imports and exports, key account administration, supply chain management, and sales reporting. The ideal candidate must have a Grade 12/Matric qualification, hold a degree or diploma, and have at least five years of experience in a similar role, along with advanced Excel proficiency.
You will report to the general manager and CEO and be responsible for the following:
Operations
- Handle all shipping for exports and imports
- Manage daily transport, courier logistics, and related costs
- Assist the food safety team leader in managing the food safety system
- Ensure accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and transactions on the ERP system
- Oversee and check the quality of incoming stock, including raw materials and finished products
- Perform ROS (reorder point) calculations and attend planning meetings with the production manager to prevent out-of-stock situations
- Create purchase orders and maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer orders
- Manage supplier portals and pricing
- Coordinate stock deliveries to distributors, ensuring sufficient stock for WFM, Amazon, USA orders, PnP, Spar, and Checkers
- Establish the cost per SKU
- Prepare annual price increases based on costs
- Support new product development, including sourcing suppliers and pricing
- Manage import orders for items such as grinder heads, Madagascan pepper, bottles, and more, while accounting for logistics delays and risk factors
- Address any supplier issues that arise
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of purchase orders and BOMs
- Manage and maintain key accounts portals for the CEO and sales director
- Manage customer price lists in the system and on portals
- Handle all administrative tasks related to key accounts and sales support
- Prepare weekly sales reports, including for Amazon and WFM
- Prepare monthly sales reports for Exco meetings and the sales team
- Action monthly exit and obsolete stock reports
- Address special client needs
- Ensure international orders are packed efficiently with customer requirements and shipped within the shortest production time
- Reconcile Amazon sales data and report on Amazon performance
Qualifications
- Business degree or diploma
- Procurement experience
- Experience with Odoo/Sage/SAP/Syspro/Microsoft Dynamics (or a similar ERP system), Odoo experience preferred
- Advanced Excel proficiency with experience in creating and managing spreadsheets, preferably having completed a course
- Knowledge and experience in supply chain management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel are essential)
- Full fluency in English, both written and spoke
- Experience with Odoo ERP system
- Experience with logistics documentation, customs, and rebates
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
- A professional attitude with a friendly and positive approach
- Strong integrity and commercial acumen, with a desire to understand the business
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Ambitious, flexible, and a team player
- Self-starter with strong time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Always seeking ways to improve efficiency in systems, processes, and work practices
