We’re a friendly, experienced and trusted boutique agency based in Durban, with several team members working fully remote from Gauteng and the Western Cape. We currently serve clients in the agriculture, financial and pet sectors in South Africa & UK and take care of all of their design and digital needs.

The position:

We’re looking for another strategic copywriter with digital marketing skills to join our team. 

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Copywriting/editing/content creation in English (Afrikaans copywriting experience is a big bonus) for various social channels, including LI, Meta and TikTok
• Briefing the design team to create assets (videos/imagery, etc) in line with your content/vision
• Upload of articles to the website CMS and applying basic SEO
• Upload of the content to the client's social software for release (for example, Sprout Social/Hubspot)
• Paid media – advertising your posts and creating and monitoring ad campaigns (experience is a bonus but not pivotal)
• Reporting – compile and critically evaluate monthly stats and make recommendations on strategy
• Research – competitor analysis, trends research, etc, to ensure our clients' content is always relevant

Remuneration:

This will depend on your in-agency experience and qualifications – please clearly state your salary expectations when applying.

Remote work/Work hours:

• This position does lend itself to full-time remote work, but it must be noted that for client data security purposes, it is not a digital nomad position. You will be required to work from one dedicated remote location, free from distractions.
• To best meet the needs of our international clients, your work hours will be from 9:00 to 17:30 on weekdays, excluding South African public holidays.
• Some overtime may be required in emergencies.

This role will suit someone who:

• Is a superb copywriter familiar with basic SEO principals
• Has an excellent eye for stock imagery and footage that is on-brand
• Is well versed in using social media platforms and website CMS’
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both fellow team members and clients
• Excels at taking client briefs (which are often vague and messy) and compiling them into clear instructions for our designers and editors
• Is highly detail-oriented, ensuring brand consistency at all times
• Is analytical and practical as much as they are creative
• Is calm under pressure and can handle the fast turnaround of multiple requests per day to a very high standard
• Is a team player and is willing to help out where needed for the benefit of our team and clients
• Is self-disciplined, can work without supervision, and instinctively knows which tasks to prioritise when
• Is excellent at timekeeping – you will be required to submit detailed monthly timesheets for billing purposes
• Is flexible and adaptable – you will be required to adopt new technology, processes and systems from time to time

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism or similar is preferable
• Preferably a minimum of five years in-agency experience in a copywriting position
