Role overview 

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented graphic designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in visual design across a range of platforms. This role involves collaborating with various teams (Project Management, Coaching, Marketing, Operations) to create visually appealing designs that align with our brand identity and marketing objectives.

This is a new role at Counterweight, so we will work closely with the right candidate to tailor the role to their relevant experience, whilst offering an opportunity for further skill development and growth. 

Responsibilities 

Content creation graphics and design:

• Develop and design engaging and innovative graphics for various platforms, including digital (website and App) and print media.
• Ensure consistency in designs and content across all company platforms.

Social media, blogs and newsletters:

• Create visually appealing graphics for social media posts, blogs, newsletters, advertisements, and campaigns.
• Work closely with the other departments to ensure designs align with current trends and brand guidelines.

Sales and marketing resources:

• Design promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and posters, to support sales and marketing initiatives.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling visuals that drive engagement and conversion.

UX design:

• Collaborate with product owner, developers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user needs and preferences.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to illustrate design concepts and user interactions.
• Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces that align with brand guidelines and design principles.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and usability testing results.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in UI/UX design and incorporate them into your work. Assist in the design of user interfaces and experiences for websites and applications.
  Must have experience with Adobe XD and Figma.

Your experience

Ideally we are looking for someone with 2+ years of professional experience. There is ample opportunity to progress in this role. 

Essential skills

• Advanced Certificate or Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or a related field.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
• Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.
• Excellent eye for detail and strong typography skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.

Preferable skills

• Experience in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles and able to apply these in Figma.
