Stuart is Global CEO, Ogilvy Public Relations. Under his leadership, Ogilvy PR was named Holmes Report's pan-EMEA Consultancy of the Year and Ogilvy twice topped the Global Creativity Index. Stuart is best known for his creatively strategic thinking for clients and his views on the future of PR and its relationship with both CCOs and CMOs. An advocate for creativity and effectiveness in communications, in 2015 he was invited to serve on the Cannes PR Lions Festival of Creativity Jury and he challenged the PR industry for its collective failure to be curious about why what it does works. In addition, Stuart is passionate about the positive impact that science can have on society and our personal lives. He serves on the New York Stem Cell Foundation Board and on the Worldwide Board of Ogilvy & Mather, part of the WPP holding company, which netted $17.4 billion in revenues in 2014.
He provides strategic leadership for corporate clients across the global network, such as Nestle, Nescafe, Reed Smith, Merck, AngloAmerican and AMEX. He has recently helped major organizations re-engineer their crisis teams and responses to take account of the revolution in social media.
Prior to Ogilvy, he headed H+K Strategies EMEA corporate practice and was CEO of Edelman UK, which he grew to be the network's third largest office. He also spent over four years as the head of corporate marketing and public affairs at 3M UK-where he published one of the UK's first environmental reports.
Stuart holds a D.Phil. in chemistry from Christ Church, Oxford. He relocated from London this year and describes himself as "bi-coast-inental" since he lives in New York City. His wife resides in LA, and his children, ages 17 and 14, are studying in the UK.
