Grant Bushby has been in the marketing and PR business for over 25 years. After graduating from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, with a Bachelor of Journalism degree, he worked at the SABC for a number of years, starting off as a news writer for (then) Radio 5 and Radio Highveld. Grant recently returned to South Africa and is in the throes of setting up his own Marketing & PR venture in partnership with an award-winning journalist.
Grant Bushby has been in the marketing and PR business for over 25 years. After graduating from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, with a Bachelor of Journalism degree, he worked at the SABC for a number of years, starting off as a news writer for (then) Radio 5 and Radio Highveld before being seconded to the production of Shaka Zulu as unit publicist and stills photographer. He went on to work on a number of high profile SABC productions before joining Ster-Kinekor as a Marketing and PR Manager responsible for local productions (Jock of the Bushveld, Leon Schuster) as well as brand manager for 20th Century Fox and Columbia TriStar Pictures. in 1996 he joined M-Net as PR & Marketing Manager for that channel as well as for the Movie Magic Channel, working on campaigns such as the Oscars and Grammys. In 1999 he was approached by BBC Worldwide, London to head up the marketing division of their Sales & Distribution Department, where he stayed for 10 years, launching shows internationally such as Walking with Dinosaurs, Teletubbies, Planet Earth, Top Gear and many more. He was also responsible for the marketing of BBC Prime and BBC Food channels across the EMEA territories. In 2010 Grant joined Impossible Pictures as their Head of Marketing, PR and Social Media, working on series such as Primeval and Sinbad while, at the same time, raising the profile of the company in an overcrowded indie production company market. Grant recently returned to South Africa and is in the throes of setting up his own Marketing & PR venture in partnership with an award-winning journalist.
