Doreen Nixon has been director of human resources (HR) at Sandoz SA's commercial business since July 2010, having previously worked for what was then known as Wyeth South Africa.

Nixon started out in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative at what used to be Wyeth South Africa in 1991. Six years into the position she was promoted to sales and product trainer and later training and development manager, a position she held for nine years.
She was appointed HR director in January 2006. In June 2010, after almost four years in her position, Nixon left Wyeth, which by then had been bought and merged with Pfizer, and joined Sandoz.
Nixon holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand. Other qualifications include certificates in Strategic HR Leadership (Stellenbosch Business School) and HR Management (Damelin), and a Diploma in Business Management from Damelin.
