Chris Welham is Director of Space Age Technologies and has always been fascinated by the enormous potential and power of technology. What he most enjoys is using digital technology to provide solutions that empower people and their companies.

After he obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, Chris began his career as a Digital Design Engineer at Siemens and later Reutech Radar Systems. It was during this stage in his career that he realised that technology could be the great equaliser that would allow small and medium businesses to compete with large enterprises.
In order to pursue this, Chris started the IT platform service provider, Genesis Systems, which he merged with Space Age Technologies in 2007. Chris now fills the role of Director at Space Age Technologies, where he is responsible for marketing and new business development.
He is driven by the belief that, by helping companies implement technology appropriately, he can make a significant contribution to the growth of their business. He instinctively links technology to business needs and has an ability to make technology understandable to non-technical people.
Along with his two colleagues, Mark Geschke (Managing Director) and Mathias Tölken (Director of Sales and Customer Relationship Management), Chris attended a Theory of Constraints (TOC) course in Israel in 2010. The 10 day-long workshop made a significant impact on the way he thinks and changed the way he approaches both business and personal life.
He is passionate about exploring technology in its many guises, and helping business people understand and find ways to use it that will help them achieve their goals. Principles and values are very important to Chris: "What you see is what you get," he says. "I have no hidden agenda and I will never hide what I think or am. If I say I will do something, I will move heaven and earth to make sure I fulfil that promise."
