Playing and sponsoring a hole at the Durban ABF Golf Day, The SpaceStation also donated R50 000 worth of advertising across the 24.com channels. This was auctioned off, with the full value going to the ABF charity. John Gayle, MD at Ogilvy Durban bid R22 500 for the advertising space, making The SpaceStation's donation possible.

"The Durban ABF Crazy Golf Day of 2011 was very successful. We had 45 fourballs and all our holes were sponsored. The ABF is grateful for all those who participated and for all the sponsors, it would simply not have been as successful without their commitment," said Sharlene Vallance, ABF Executive Committee member.

Mike Luscombe, CEO of The SpaceStation said: "We as a company are always happy to assist the ABF where we can. Great fun was had by all at the golf days and besides the sponsorship, we were able to raise extra funds by auctioning off inventory."

The Johannesburg ABF Golf Day, which took place at Kyalami, saw teams dressing up as icons from 1980's TV shows. The SpaceStation team dressed up as characters from the famous dance show, Fame, giving new meaning to the phrase "Fame - I'm gonna live forever!", in their electric blue headbands and shuffle socks. Sponsoring and manning the 16th hole on the golf course, the team set about quenching the thirst of the not-so-sobre golfers with blue Sambucca rocket shots.

A wonderful evening of dinner and drinks followed, with many prizes being won.

Mike added: "The ABF provides vital support to our fellow colleagues (and their families) in the advertising and media industry, and we would like to encourage even more people in the field to get involved and support this organisation."
