Saturday Citizen increased its circulation by 5% from quarter one (January – March) to quarter two (April – June) 2017, making it the only weekend newspaper in Gauteng that showed an upturn in circulation for the said period. Overall, weekend newspapers declined by 3% in quarter two, 2017.
Please bear in mind that in Q2 2016 (April – June) The Citizen still published its Monday to Friday and Saturday edition in KwaZulu-Natal. Publishing has been stopped in July 2016, hence the fact that we can’t compare Q2 2017 to Q2 2016 for both publications.
