Leading art director to join The Property Magazine
One of South Africa's leading art directors is to join The Property Magazine. Tony Vaughan, publisher of The Property Magazine, says, "We are delighted to have a talent like Christopher Evans joining our growing brand. Christopher will bring an experienced artistic eye to complement our popular editorial pillars of showcasing SA property and lifestyle in a thought-provoking and lively manner.
"Christopher's experience as art director for Condé Nast House & Garden magazine as well his overall creative abilities is an asset to The Property Magazine. As a proudly South African title and with Christopher on board we will be very well positioned to take The Property Magazine into the international arena."
"We are also pleased to welcome Karen O'Moore as advertising sales manager (Gauteng) and Kay Mbongwa as advertising sales executive. Karen brings invaluable experience from Caxton Newspapers and Threads and Crafts Magazine while Kay brings expertise from years of experience at The Sowetan, Sunday World and Leadership magazine.
Christopher joins a growing list of high profile publishing stars to have joined The Property Magazine in the last few months. National advertising sales manager Josephine Swainbank spent the past two years at South Africa's number one mens' magazine, FHM, growing circulation by 20% to 104 000, and significantly increasing advertising revenue. Editor Glenda Nevill, formerly of the Sunday Times (SA and London) and previously editor of The Big Issue; as well as nine other hand-picked staffers from House and Leisure, World TV Report, Media 24 & New Media have combined into an experienced and highly talented team.
Vaughan notes that The Property Magazine has proved so popular since its Cape Town launch, it is increasing its print run by 10 000 copies to 60 000 for the August/September editions whilst finalising the planning for the launch of the Gauteng edition. The KwaZulu-Natal launch is planned for early 2005.
