The Africa Rising International Film Fest launch event took place on 16 October 2019 at the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein.

AfricaCom was launched on Wednesday, 12 July, at an informal, but intimate function held in Rosebank, Johannesburg, South Africa. The event also kicked off the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of what is, Africa's largest, influential, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) conference and exhibition.
