The atmosphere on the street and in the stands at the ninth season and fifth round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race was electric. The event took place on Saturday, 25 February, finally delivering the dream of a Cape Town E-Prix and the most exciting motorsport event of 2023 thus far, while promoting the future of zero-emission technology.
The Cape Town leg of the Formula E street racing series, which since 2014 has been held in some of the world's most iconic cities, saw a field of world-class drivers and motorsport stakeholders take on the 2.8km, 12-turn track with breathtaking Cape Table Bay, Signal Hill and Table Mountain backdrops....
On 28 February, the Motul RC Raceway at Zwartkops, Pretoria, hosted the first round of the 2021 RCX Championship and the warm-up to the National Series. The Zwartkops track was open for both amateurs and South Africa's top RCX competitors in this motorsport.
The format of the 2021 RCX Championship sees participants compete in three, six-minute qualifying rounds followed by a main race lasting from 30 to 45 minutes. The sport also features competitors aged from just four years old to over 65 making it a family fun event.

Monster truck phenomenon Monster Jam took place at the Cape Town Stadium on 27 April, before the main event a a Pit Party, with the drivers and trucks, on show took place.
The race between pro IndyCar driver Graham Rahal and pro gamer Peter Jeakins, started out at Microsoft’s (publisher of the Forza Motorsport Series) Turn 10 Studios in Seattle where Jeakins (known to the gaming world as theSLAPtrain) recorded his fastest lap time in a virtual Type R at the Road Atlanta race track in Forza Motorsport 7. The race continued at the actual Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA, where Rahal raced a real 2018 Civic Type R against Jeakins’ virtual one....
Several members of the Margate biking fraternity got together to celebrate their biking passion while also giving back to the community at the South Coast Bike Fest which was held from Thursday, 27 April to Sunday, 30 April.
Africa Bike Week 2015, set in the coastal town of Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, took place in April. Having never before attended a large motocycling event like this, I was completely blown away by the biking culture here in South Africa.
