Adspend up in the US

According to preliminary figures released by Nielsen Monitor-Plus, a service of Nielsen Media Research, advertising spending in the US for the first half 2002 rose 2.3% over the same period last year. This is in despite of Internet and TV declines of more than 8%. The biggest advertising spender was the automobile category, followed by restaurants, motion pictures, department stores and prescription Drugs.
