Academic Navigator (Lecturer): Game Art (Part-Time)

The IIE’s Vega, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:Job Purpose:- Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning
Key Performance Areas:- Prepare for lectures based on provided content
- Supplement content with own expertise
- Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours
- Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback
- Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed
- Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success
- Provide content feedback
- Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Ideally:- NQF 8 qualification in a design field, such as Multimedia Design, Game Design or Digital Arts with experience in 3D character animation
Alternatively: - An NQF-level 8 qualification in a related field or in education with an undergrad in a design field, such as Multimedia Design, Game Design or Digital Arts with experience in 3D character animation
- Undergraduate qualifications will be considered in conjunction with relevant experience
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:- At least 3 years lecturing and/ or work experience as a 3D digital animator
- A layered portfolio demonstrating 3D animation skills is required. Proficient knowledge and skill of industry standard 3D animation software such as 3DS Max and MudBox and/or ZBrush and of game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine is a prerequisite
Working Hours: - Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 00- subject to position
Salary:- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
