Future Planning Resilience ● Communications Digital Graphic Designer (User Experience) Basic Salary: R499 822 Per Annum ● Fpr 38/24 ● Cape Town Civic Centre (Hybrid) Requirements: - Relevant three-year tertiary qualification
- At least five (5) years' experience as a graphic or UX designer in the public sector OR a minimum five (5) years' experience as a mid-to-senior graphic or UX designer for a large organisation (200+ employees)
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent) for original vector-based artwork, as well as bitmap-based designs
- Highly proficient in template creation for Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
- Proficient in creating layout and design templates in creative packages for the import of data from other sources
- Excellent design skills; being able to produce original designs based on brief and brand guidelines
- Ability to engage with clients to understand detailed requirements, to produce solutions that meet client and user needs and requirements
- Excellent communication, documentation and collaboration skills
- Able to illustrate in a variety of pre-defined styles
- Good working knowledge of social media formats and trends.
Key performance areas: - Produce and optimise user experiences (UX) on City digital applications that conform to City brand architecture and/or guidelines
- Produce user interfaces or prototypes for digital channels, including HTML front-end sites and applications that conform to City brand guidelines
- Create original artwork in line with City brand architecture guidelines and other policies
- Scoping of briefs based on requirements, manage tasks from brief to completion, liaising with clients and vendors as necessary, to ensure that output matches requirements
- To contribute to design frameworks, guides and documentation for digital platform and digital brand management
- Perform other digital-related work, including image editing, selecting, tagging and uploading
- Manage, review and update guidelines for City channels
- Contribute to the updating of the City's Corporate Identity Guide.
