Qualifications, skills, and required competencies- Finance-related qualification (BCom Accounting/Finance degree).
- Postgraduate studies and affiliations with CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA are advantageous.
- Five to seven years of related experience, including at least three years of managerial experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel).
- Knowledge of the company's policies and procedures, with in-house induction training.
- Fluency in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Competent financial management and leadership skills.

Key duties and responsibilities- Oversee the finance team and their daily functions.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow forecasts.
- Provide financial advice to the CEO to enhance profitability.
- Monitor and control cash flow, receipts, and disbursements.
- Implement and maintain cash management strategies.
- Assist in preparing financial reports to summarise and forecast financial positions.
- Manage and oversee asset management.
- Contribute to budget preparation and consolidation for final approval.
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of accounting information.
- Oversee debtors and creditors functions.
- Review cost centres for reasonableness and trend analysis.
- Manage month-end closures, including bank accounts, cash accounts, and petty cash/e-wallets.
- Develop financial mechanisms to minimise risks.
- Liaise with auditors for annual audits and maintain external relationships with relevant contacts.
- Keep up-to-date with financial regulations and legislation.
- Oversee insurance portfolios and statutory submissions.
- Ensure proper implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and internal controls.
- Participate in formulating departmental budgets and forecasting cash requirements.
- Assist departmental heads in operating budget preparations.
- Supervise office services, including reception, filing, and stationery procurement.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, adhering to standard practices.
- Compile annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, etc.
- Review and manage all contractual requirements with clients, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Regularly communicate and report to the Group finance team.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks related to the role.
