PR and Events Coordinator

Key duties and responsibilitiesMedia relations
- Build and maintain strong media relationships within the campus community and region.
- Produce monthly media releases and caption stories to meet annual PR exposure targets.
- Network with media representatives during campus events.
- Collaborate with the national office in crisis management situations.
Brand identity
- Ensure consistent application of the brand identity across campus communication, including posters, flyers, and campus aesthetics.
- Uphold a positive brand reputation through all communications.
Management of PR-related service providers
- Select and manage service providers, such as photographers, printers, and sound technicians.
- Brief photographers and coordinate with staff to ensure effective event coverage.
General administration
- Compile annual and monthly events calendars.
- Prepare post-event reports and manage the campus PR budget.
- Submit monthly PR activity reports.
Events management
- Plan and implement a balanced programme of social events to enhance the campus’s appeal to prospective students.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on events.
- Manage internal advertising for events and build partnerships with third parties for venues and sponsorships.
Team support
- Assist in community engagement and awareness campaign events.
- Support specific projects within the student experience team.
- Provide public relations support to other departments when required.
Social committee management
- Recruit and manage the social committee to encourage student participation and a well-rounded experience.
Competencies required- Strong administration, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- High energy, self-motivation, and ability to manage work proactively.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (spoken and written English).
Minimum qualification requirements- BA degree in corporate communications, PR/marketing, or equivalent.
Minimum work experience requirements- At least three years of experience in PR, events management, social media, or media liaison.
Special requirements- Driver’s licence and own vehicle are essential.
