People Management convention and expo

The Institute of People Management (IPM) 2004 convention and exhibition, August 22 - 24 at Sun City, looks at "Ten years on the path to global competitiveness" with particular attention on strategy and technology.

The 2004 convention, sponsored by Old Mutual, is a platform for human resource professionals and people managers from business and government arenas to interact, network, share opportunities, exchange ideas and information on current and future people management issues.

The emphasis is on issues and challenges, which businesses in South Africa and Africa face in ensuring that they are competitive on a world-class scale. Leading thinkers, practitioners, academics both local and international, discuss and debate imperatives with the delegates from the human resources and general business fields.

Said Old Mutual's Deputy Managing Director, Peter Moyo: "We are excited to be partners as Old Mutual, like IPM, believes in investing in the future of the organisation and the country as a whole. We believe that people management professionals are key to unlocking the talent within organisations, thus ensuring further economic growth and prosperity for South Africa into the future.

"Our desire is to build a strategic partnership between people management professionals and Old Mutual as we believe that this will benefit employees through the increased effectiveness of company benefits which are provided," he added.
