Weekend Post revamps

The Weekend Post has been revamped and will hit the streets in its all-new format on 5 May 2007 with a new addition called My Weekend, the focus of which is interactive communication with the newspaper's Eastern and Southern Cape readers.

The new tabloid leisure supplement contains all Weekend Post's popular regular columns and features plus a new stylish and information-packed pull-out TV guide. However, there are also new sections such as My Health, My Food, My Garden, My Pet and My Car which allow readers to share their stories, experiences, tips and, above all, opinions. My Travel and the popular Explorer series continue to discover new destinations.

The latest on the performing arts, exhibitions, restaurants and pubs; movie, CD, DVD and book reviews; columnists, cartoons, puzzles and the classified advertisements, featuring a revamped swop column, are also part of the My Weekend package.

Enthusing about the new-look Weekend Post, editor-in-chief Jethro Goko said the newspaper was all about doing things differently, sharing knowledge, adding value and building their communities.

"Although our readers have long affirmed the fact that we are the best weekend read in the region, we cannot afford to be complacent. In our pages the reader is king and to that extent our new-look package is designed to keep us at the top of the game and to meet the changing needs of readers," he said.
