According to Anton Groenewald, interim head of the city's marketing development unit, there are two logo indentification process underway, one for the city only and the other, the Joint Marketing Initiative (JMI), representing both the city and the province. "Instead of a unitary branding concept that was previously mooted, we are now going to have tri-branding - for the province, city and external marketing, which encompasses trade, tourism, investment, film and major events."
