SABC's Matric Uploaded now covering grade 10-12 curricula

This year Matrics Uploaded, the SABC Education's multimedia curriculum programme, extends its content support to cover both the grade 10 and 11 curricula. The programme, in its third successful season, originally provided support for grade 12 learning areas.

"Matric is the culmination of at least 13 years of education from grade 0 to 12 and to qualify for tertiary instruction you need good grades. Matrics Uploaded offers a full course of multimedia lessons across six core subjects - Physical Sciences, Mathematics, English First Additional Language, Life Sciences, Mathematical Literacy and Accounting," says Pontsho Makhetha, acting general manager at SABC Education.

A fun interactive game-show

Driven by Mzansi's top teachers Matrics Uploaded is a fun interactive game-show where contestants from two competing schools view a lesson from screened subjects, and then battle it out to see which school can outwit the other and become champions for the week. The studio contestants and participating viewers stand a chance to win awesome prizes.

The programme also offers an extra resource feature of questions and answers on facebook which allows learners to interact live with teachers from 18h00 to 19h00 on weekdays. The show is supported by lessons and questions which will be available for download on the revamped website launching on 20 February 2012.

"Learners can visit the new website www.sabc1.co.za/matrics and be able to view up to date lessons as they are broadcast on the homepage, they can easily navigate for previously broadcast lessons for revision on specific subjects," says Pontsho.
