South Africa's Football Association (Safa), is said to plan an announcement on Tuesday about new opponents for Bafana.

Igesund said that, in view of the fact that South Africa will host the Africa Cup of Nations, he wants to play an African team as opposed to a European side. "That game was arranged long before I was appointed Bafana coach'', he said. "Anything is possible," National team manager Ace Kika added, "It's unfortunate that the programme was already drawn up long before he was appointed the Bafana coach.''

"I agree with (Igesund) that we need to play an African team and continue to build up on our recent win against Mozambique," a senior member of Safa, who did not want to be named, said. "He made it quite clear that he wants to have the best preparations for the Africa Nations Cup tournament which we are hosting." The person added that there is not much time left - "the tournament will kick off in January and it would be a huge embarrassment if we cannot reach the advanced stages of the tournament,'' Sunday World reports.
