It's a sell out!

Gauteng Cricket Board today announced that tickets for the Standard Bank International Pro20 at Liberty Life Wanderers have sold out. Sales for the 32 000 capacity match between South Africa and Australia which takes place on Friday 27 March, opened to the public on 9 February 2009.

Jo'burg cricket fans will still have the opportunity to win a limited number of tickets for this game, which are being made available to Gauteng Cricket Board's radio partner 94.7 Highveld Stereo from 9 March 2009.

The 5th MTN One-Day International takes place at Liberty Life Wanderers on Friday 17 April and there are only 6100 tickets still available. Tickets range in price from R75 - R220 and are on sale at the stadium and Computicket.

The battle for Test supremacy between the top two ranked teams in the world begins next week, Thursday 26 February 2009, in the 1st Castle Test match in Johannesburg.

Liberty Life Wanderers and 94.7 Highveld Stereo encourages Jo'burgers to GO 94 700 ALL IN with them, and become part of South African Test cricket history by setting the record for the highest attendance at a Test match.

The current record of 91 251 spectators was set in 1995, when South Africa played England at the Wanderers.

A total of 77 000 tickets of a possible 156 000 tickets for the five days have been sold to date. Gauteng Cricket Board's CEO Alan Kourie commented: “We are delighted with the public's response and thank them for their ongoing support of the Proteas and Liberty Life Wanderers.

“The recent Test Series in Australia captured the public's imagination and re-ignited interest in this ultimate form of the game. The pre-match sales for the upcoming Castle Test are the best we have experienced in many years and we are confident that our loyal audience will rise to the occasion and provide Graeme Smith and the Proteas with the 94 700 ALL IN home crowd support they so richly deserve”.

Daily ticket prices range from R30 to R54 for Adults, and R24 for Scholars and Students.

Sunday 1 March is Family Day at Liberty Life Wanderers, where for every adult ticket purchased you will receive a free ticket for a child under 12 (while stocks last).

The Stadium ticket office is open Monday to Friday, 08h30 - 16h00. For more information contact Gauteng Cricket Board on 011 340 1500.
