"The role of business in addressing climate change challenges is of paramount importance, given that key solutions rest with business," says Joanne Yawitch, NBI CEO. "COP 17 presents a unique focal point for South African business to showcase its interventions in this respect, learn what is needed for applying new and appropriate corporate strategy and issue messages to governments about the enabling frameworks they require for transition into a low carbon or green economy."

The NBI is also coordinating the Business Pavilion comprising over 30 large corporations at the South Africa Climate Change and Response Expo, where business will be showcasing its climate change initiatives.
