Spoilt for production choice

Three new companies have launched recently: the all-women team of Firefly Pictures; Jeremy and Liza Goodall's boutique film shop, feelgoodfilms and Alan Ralston's production company, Peepshow Films.

Offering a combination of animation, live action and photographic skills, Firefly Pictures is a partnership of internationally renowned stills photographer and live action director, Fiona MacPherson, award-winning animation director, Jacquie Trowell and producer Leigh Page, an ex-crew boss with 15 years of film experience. All three women are committed to social upliftment, giving their time and skills to projects high-lighting their concerns, which include global warming, HIV Aids and child abuse.

After a two-year stint at Suburban, the producer/director Goodall team has gone solo. Says Liza Goodall, “Our strength in feelgoodfilms is both Jeremy's wide appeal and the fact that as a dynamic and compact team we will be continuing to produce the high quality work that has become synonymous with Jeremy's good name in the industry. We love what we do and look forward to making many more feel good films.”

After many successful years together, Chaos Films partners Alan Ralston and Stafford Robinson have parted ways to pursue separate interests. As of July 2007, Peepshow Films opens its doors for business with producer Gio Thomson on board as partner. Its director roster will include Joni Botha, plus other new directing talent who are yet to be announced.

July will also see the launch of the company's service division, Peepshow Global, which will offer international clients the benefit of Ralston's shooting experience throughout Africa.
