Game on for an interactive trip to the wild side

Two new multi-award winning board games from Blowfish Entertainment are set to capture the imagination when they launch in South Africa this November.
Game on for an interactive trip to the wild side

'Wild Life' and 'Sea Life' combine traditional board games with the latest DVD technology to deliver two fun, interactive and educational games that can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of eight.

Both games deliver high quality visual impact. All the Wild Life images have been filmed by Hugh van Lawick, the highly acclaimed and award winning documentary and filmmaker. Jean Michel Cousteau - one of the most prominent underwater filmmakers in the world - has provided all the film and still clips on the Sea Life DVD.

In the wild

In the Serengeti, a big cat's ears twitch, a secretary bird comes into view. A glimpse of a wildlife scene is presented and then a question relating to what you've just seen is posed with a choice of three answers. The drums beat a 10 second roll as you play the game, the aim of which is to be the first to drive from your starting position to the finish in your jeep.

Under the sea

Deep under the sea, a manta ray floats across your screen and then you see a kelp forest and a shoal of fish. A slice of ocean life is revealed before a question comes up about what you've just seen. As the submarine sonar counts down the ten seconds, choose one of the three answers and, if you're right, you can move on up (or dive down in this instance) in the game. The object of the game is to be the first scuba diver to reach the finish line.

Each DVD contains film clips, photographs, trivia and quiz questions which you watch and play as you play the board game. There are a hundred film/photographic clips each on two DVDs. Some of the questions are easy, some are humorous, some quirky, surprising or tricky, and many are just downright difficult.

The two games retail for around R349 each and they are both available at Toys R Us stores, with more retailers expected to come onboard in time for Christmas. The games are presented in an attractive tin, with two DVDs, card packs and rules.

Wild Life has won many awards including ‘Toy of the Year 2006' in the Netherlands, the 2007 Creative Toy Award in the USA and Toy Innovation Award at the Nurnberg Toy Fair.
