New Clicks announces changes to board

Retail group New Clicks today announced the appointment of John Bester as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 October 2008.

Bester served as a partner of Ernst & Young for 10 years, has held financial director positions in commerce and industry and is currently the financial director of Personal Trust International.

He is non-executive chairman of Barnard Jacobs Mellet Holdings and a non-executive director of Western Province Rugby.

The group also advised that that independent non-executive director, Rob Lumb, will be resigning from the board of New Clicks for personal reasons, with effect from 30 November 2008.

New Clicks chairman David Nurek thanked Lumb for the role he has played in the group since his appointment in 2004.

"The board has benefited from Rob's financial acumen and independent thinking, and his active participation in board and committee debates will be sorely missed."

"Rob will continue to chair the audit committee until the end of November 2008 to ensure continuity through the financial year-end audit and reporting process.

"John Bester will then assume the chairmanship of the audit committee from 1 December 2008."
