International audiovisual company opens in SA for African expansion

Following a three-year development of relationships and the training of Stage Audio Works as its first Certified Partner in South Africa, Christie, a global visual technology company, has announced the opening of a new office in Fourways, Johannesburg.

The setting up of Christie's new office in Africa, effective from 1 June 2012, underpins the company's long commitment to the territory. This new office will provide facilities for demonstrations, customer and partner training and inventory management.

Heading the operation as territory manager, Africa, will be Phil Lord, a 12-year veteran of the organisation, who has spent half that time in South Africa. "The company is committed and dedicated to supporting the African market and, with the help of our partners, we have been growing the business for some time. We all felt there were additional commercial opportunities that could be realised by further investment and now is the time to add extra resources."

As with other branch offices, it will offer an open door policy to partners and customers to use the facilities for their own customer meetings.

The company believes that the African market has massive growth potential over the next ten years, and investing in local resources and training now will ensure that it will be well placed to enjoy the benefits of that expansion over a longer term and establish it as a major player within the African continent.

Through its existing partner network, including Stage Audio Works, it will sell, service and support the African continent (as far as Egypt) including the Indian Ocean and Israel, the only exceptions being the French-speaking North African countries, which will be managed by the office in France.
