A first from Bizcommunity.com - self-managed banners

Banners are powerful advertising and promotional tools for your business and, up until now, managing them has been the responsibility of the website providing the exposure. However, there are advertisers who would enjoy having more freedom of control over their banners. They would like to tweak them when necessary, or replace them.

Bizcommunity.com has recognised this desire on the part of some of our clients and hence has devised what we believe to be a unique product that will give those clients, who elect to use it, enhanced management of their own banners.

Naturally, Bizcommunity.com still offers our standard banner management service, and to make use of this service, simply contact our sales team.

Our new self-managed banners are designed to enhance our overall offering, however, and here's how they work…

  • You upload the ads yourself (GIF, flash or even 3rd party code such as DoubleClick);
  • You target the ad with keywords;
  • You specify your budget;
  • You specify a maximum rate that you are prepared to pay;
  • You choose a budget and your banner's exposure;
  • You receive comprehensive daily campaign reports;
  • You modify your campaign and banners at any time.

Even better news is this: there is no standard CPM (cost-per-thousand ads) rate. You specify a maximum CPM that you are prepared to pay and the system does the rest… optimising this rate downwards up to the minimum for that position if there is enough open advertising space.

We believe Bizcommunity's new self-managed banner service is a first for South Africa and excellent value!

Says Andre Rademan, technical director, Bizcommunity: "Some websites offer what is virtually a 'take-or-leave-it' service but what we are trying to do is enhance our offering, and give more authority to those of our clients who are comfortable with managing their own banners on our site. What we are offering is choice, and an enhanced offering on our standard banner service, where we manage the banner on behalf of our clients.”
