Spar is cool for school with 'Free 4 all'

To capture the youth market, Spar is tying in with Free 4 All, the country's largest youth publication (print run 300 000). Recognising the importance of brand building with the teenage consumer, they have entered into a 'back to school' joint venture with the freebie teenage newspaper.

Free 4 All, now approaching its 10th year, has a massive monthly print run - and during school terms is delivered direct to 300 000 subscribers at over 300 high schools.

In the past, the publication has shut up shop during the Christmas school holidays, but this year in collaboration with the supermarket giant, a 'back to school' bumper edition will be published for handing out free at selected Spar and Superspar stores throughout the country.

"We let all our regular readers know there was going to be this special edition," said Free 4 All Marketing Editor Seu Comber, "so it will certainly be putting feet in their stores."

"The special 'back to school' edition will be our regular mix of
entertainment and teen-related articles - but as a bonus to all those who are heading back to school there will be a dedicated eight-page blend of Spar advertising and our usual interactive, reader-friendly editorial content."
